The O.B Lulu-Briggs Foundation is a not-for-profit Organisation, founded in the year two thousand and one (2001) by Dr. (Mrs) Seinye O.B. Lulu- Briggs, out of her burning desire to serve humanity the Lulu-Briggs family has been involved in philanthropy and helping the needy for years. The Foundation came about when Mrs. Lulu-Briggs decided to formalise the process to ensure objectivity, wider spread and better result.
The lofty and original objective for setting up the Foundation was to establish and carry out philanthropic and charitable activities, including relief of poverty in any lawful manner without limitation to anything which can benefit the poor. This includes distribution of food and cash, provision of health facilities and education in support of the poor, establishment of suitable housing, clinics, hospitals, libraries, religious and cultural centres, community associations, sanitary and other municipal services, sports facilities, parks and other recreational facilities, advancement of education and other activities beneficial to the public.
THEMATIC PROGRAMME AREAS
In order to achieve its aim, the Foundation since its inception has been actively involved in various humanitarian and development programmes within the Niger Delta region. It has funded and implemented several projects over the years in five (5) key thematic areas of;
I. Care for the Elderly, otherwise known as Care for Life,
II. Creation of access to healthcare especially for rural dwellers through Free Medical Missions,
III. Access to Potable Water and Sanitation,
IV. Education and Scholarship at the Nursery, Primary, Tertiary schools level and Law School,
V. Micro Credit and Economic Empowerment.
